About this vacation property in Wittersham, England

Sat in its own grounds of approximately half an acre this magnificent building can be seen from miles around. The brilliant white cowls reflect against the sun and turn with the wind to reveal its position near the ancient heart of the village, next to the 13th Century church, and two former inn houses.
Beyond the doors you are assured of the very best welcome and high standards of accommodation that will help you relax and enjoy yourselves whether you’re passing through, visiting friends or starting your holiday.
The Oast has recommendations a plenty for places to visit, activities to do, food to eat and where to simply sit back and relax.
Afternoon tea and coffee are served on arrival. The bedrooms are fully equipped with quality furniture, fresh crisp linen, fluffy towels, dressing gowns and complimentary toiletries. An integrated flat screen TV/DVD with freeview and tea and coffee making facilities are also available. WIFI.
Breakfast will be served in the Dining Room, with doors that can be opened onto the garden or in the garden itself when the sun shines! All of our produce is locally sourced. We are proud to say we breed and rear our own rare breed pigs and produce our own sausages and bacon. Our eggs are provided by our chickens that run free in our garden.

    About the area of Wittersham

Wittersham sits between the ancient Cinque ports of Tenterden and Rye in the Isle of Oxney. The largest of the villages, it occupies an area of slightly higher land which was once a true island in the delta that became the Marsh. The village sign is a reminder of this, featuring a cut out Roman galley under sail. Part of the village is a conservation area, including the 13th Century church of St John the Baptist and several listed buildings nearby. Among them the 19th Century Wittersham House is one of Sir Edward Landseer Lutyens designs.
The Church clock was donated in 1960 by the parents of Flying Officer Michael Fitt, RCAF. He died at the controls of his crashed Sabre Jet because he chose not to bale out in order to make sure the plane did not fall on a French Village.
Stocks windmill, a mile outside the village, is open to the public on selected days throughout the Summer months and takes its name from the village stocks that stood nearby.
