Reference System
Our proprietary Reference System works both ways - Owners can rate their Travellers and the Travellers can rate the quality of accommodations. The system is objective and designed to limit misuse. Owners must first be confirmed by the Traveller before they can rate that Traveller and vice-versa. Each reference can be recorded in the profile or discarded at the User's discretion. Those Users with the highest number of positive references are usually most reliable. In assessing reliability of an Owner, one must take into consideration the age of an Owner's membership and the geographic location of the property. For example, Owners who have a longer membership, or properties located in more popular destinations, might have a higher rate of successful references. Similar logic applies to Travellers. Those Travellers who have travelled more frequently and thus rented out more properties might have a higher Reliability Rating.

When you are planning a vacation at a private property, the most important thing is the assurance that the trip will be a blast and that everything will go according to plan. We interview the property owners - in person, where possible - to ensure that all listings are legitimate. We believe you deserve this kind of quality of service. This enables us to guarantee all properties listed with us. If your accommodation turns out to be not as advertised, we will work with you to make things right. We will provide all registered Travellers who also register their specific trip with a $2500 guarantee to cover discrepancies or a breach of contract on the part of the Owner.
