About this vacation property in Montreal, Quebec
The Gingerbread Manor, built in 1885, and recently renovated for your comfort, still maintains its turn of the century charm. The façade of the manor is historically protected.
Our first bed and breakfast was called the Gingerbread House because of all the gingerbread (ornamentation on Victorian homes is often called gingerbread) ornamenting on the exterior of the building. With that in mind, we named this the Gingerbread Manor, not only because of all the gingerbread, it is much larger than our original B&B and is a manor house complete with carriage house.
We are located in the downtown area, right on the edge of The Plateau, next to Square St-Louis with its beautiful fountain and close to the pedestrian Prince Arthur Street with its BYOB (bring your own bottle.) restaurants.
On St-Denis and St-Laurent you will find even more restaurants and some wonderful cafes. We are just minutes from the Village and just a walk away from most of Montreal's Nightclubs. Walk over to the downtown core, where you will find some of the greatest shopping in Montreal’s famous underground city, or hop onto the Metro (subway) which can take you far and wide. Grab a Bixi bicycle and peddle yourself around the city.
Street car parking is available on a first-come first-served basis. We unfortunately don't own the street, so while we will try our best to find a spot, but we can't guarantee it. If you are arriving by car, please send us a note so that we have a heads-up on your need for a spot. Thank you.
Five tastefully decorated rooms are available for our guests, in a smoke-free environment. They are comfortably furnished with quality bedding. Up the curving wood staircase with its statuette, you will find the two first floor guestrooms. The shared bath is equipped with a modern shower.
